President of the United States of America, Donald J.Trump defends viral image of himself as the Pope

President Donald. J Trump

On Monday, President Donald Trump downplayed backlash surrounding an AI-generated image portraying him as the Pope, which was shared on the White House social media pages ahead of the conclave to select a successor to the late Pope Francis. Trump claims he had no role in creating the image, despite it appearing on his personal social media account, which he manages and the White House’s official X account.

He suggested that the catholics ‘loved it’ and the media is attempting to make it seem as if they were offended by the image. He added, ‘anyone who was offended by the depiction can’t take a joke’ However, most people assumed the President was ‘hinting’ a message of the incoming Pope ahead of the selection of the new Pope.
