“The Power of Yieldedness”

“I believe in miracles, because I believe in God.” – Kathryn Kuhlman

There is something supernatural about a life fully yielded to God. Kathryn Kuhlman—graceful, elegant, yet trembling with power—stood before crowds not as a woman with confidence in herself, but as one completely surrendered to the Holy Spirit.

Her sermons were not sermons. They were experiences—encounters with the divine, where words melted into worship and tears flowed like rivers of healing.

This article captures the heart of a Kuhlman sermon: a call to yield, to believe, and to let the Holy Spirit do what only He can.

  1. The Holy Spirit – Not an “It,” but a Person

Kathryn would often pause mid-message, her voice soft, eyes closed, and say,

“Don’t grieve Him. Don’t grieve the Holy Spirit.”

To her, the Holy Spirit wasn’t a theological concept. He was a person. Her friend. Her power. Her guide. She spoke of Him with reverence, as if He were standing beside her—because to her, He was.

In her words:

“He’s more real to me than you are.”

Her message: If you want the power of God, seek a relationship with the Holy Spirit. Don’t use Him—know Him.

  1. God Uses the Weak Things

Kathryn would often cry as she told her audience:

“I have nothing. I am nothing. I’ve never been married. I’ve never had a child. But I gave my life to Him.”

She preached that God doesn’t need ability—He needs availability.
It was not talent, beauty, or intellect that brought miracles. It was a heart that said,
“Jesus, I’m yours. Take everything.”

She reminded us that God delights in using the broken, the forgotten, the yielded. Why? So no flesh can glory in His presence.

  1. Healing Comes When He Is Present

Unlike modern preachers who may hype the stage, Kathryn often stood silently before people. No loud music. No flashing lights.

Just the presence of God.

She never claimed to heal anyone. In fact, she insisted:

“I cannot heal anyone. Only Jesus can.”

As worship filled the atmosphere, healings began to occur. Cancer vanished. Deaf ears opened. Lame legs walked.

But the real miracle? Souls falling in love with Jesus.

  1. Yield. Yield. Yield.

At the core of Kathryn Kuhlman’s preaching was one plea:

“Yield your life to Him.”

Not half. Not the parts that are convenient.
All.

“God is not looking for golden vessels or silver vessels. He is looking for yielded vessels.”

To her, the greatest miracle wasn’t healing. It was a life surrendered to the will of God.

  1. Her Closing Cry: “Don’t Miss Him”

In every message, she wept.
Not out of emotion—but reverence.

“Don’t miss Him. Don’t miss the greatest thing this side of Heaven—the presence of the Holy Spirit.”

Her sermons never ended with applause. They ended with awe.

People left with more than a message.
They left marked by God.

Final Thoughts: A Legacy of Power and Purity

Kathryn Kuhlman wasn’t perfect. She admitted her past mistakes and regrets. But her transparency made her relatable—and her surrender made her powerful.

She once said:

“I died a thousand deaths before I ever stepped on a platform.”

And maybe that’s the secret.
Die to self. Live in Him.

Her sermons were sermons of the Spirit. They weren’t just heard. They were felt.

And today, her cry still echoes:

“Don’t miss the Holy Spirit. Let Him have all of you. And watch what He will do.”
