Bishop T.D Jakes has officially stepped down as the senior pastor of The Potter’s House. He made the announcement during the Sunday Service held on the 27th of April. Jakes who has been the Senior Pastor for over 30 years has passed on the new position to his daughter, Sarah Jakes Roberts and her husband, Pastor Toure Roberts who’s new roles will begin in July.
Sarah Jakes Roberts’ journey in ministry started earlier in 2014, where she held her first sermon in Los Angeles. She began preaching at The Potter’s House on the 5th of June in 2022. However, Pastor Toure Roberts delivered his first sermon in 2001. The couple has quite extensive experience in ministry. Their new roles are likely to appeal to the younger generation through their relatable communication style which in turn attract more young believers
